Hello from a fresh repo

This is the first post. Not the first plugin — that comes later. This is the engineering notebook.

The rule is simple: I write about the specific thing I spent too long on. The highpass that’s phase-linear above 80 Hz. The lookup table I thought about for a week. The knob with one detent because I removed the others on purpose. If I’d want to read it while trying to build the same thing, it gets written.

What won’t be here: launch countdowns, roadmap theater, “industry-leading” anything. Hyperfocus DSP is one person shipping plugins I’d use on my own mixes. That’s the bar, and it doesn’t scale down.

When a plugin ships with a tradeoff, the post says so — what I chose, what I left on the floor, what’s intentionally missing. Vendors hide that. Peers compare notes.

Posts land when there’s something to say. Sometimes three in a month, sometimes none for a quarter. Heads-up goes out when plugins ship. No sales, no churn.
